The grand finale of the 72nd Miss World 2025 competition being held in Hyderabad on Saturday, in a way that has tarnished the image of Telangana, with Miss England Milla Maggie withdrawing from the contest, expressing her frustration that she was made to feel like a prostitute by the dishonest organizers.
It is noteworthy that such outrageous allegations have not been made anywhere in the past. It is reported that she was deeply upset by the inappropriate behavior of some people at the government banquet held at Chowmahalla Palace and the organizers’ indifference to this.
As Miss England’s allegations have caused a stir worldwide, the state government has ordered an internal inquiry with three female IPS officers. It is reported that the team of officers who investigated for three days, focusing mainly on what happened at the table where Miss England was sitting, suspected two people.
Both of them are known to be young leaders in the Congress. It is learnt that their dirty tricks were clearly identified in the CCTV footage and the same point was included in the preliminary report and submitted to the government.
The inquiry committee has reportedly identified these two leaders as being under the age of 40, one of whom is a leader holding a constitutional post and the other is a corporation leader with whom the chief leader of the party is so close that he calls them by name all the time.
The full details will come out only if the entire CCTV footage of the Chowmahalla banquet is released, and therefore the leaders of women’s groups are demanding that it be released. If the CCTV footage of some private functions held at the Chowmahalla Palace and Trident Hotel is examined, the real facts will come out.
It has recently been revealed that not only Maggie but all the contestants are victims. It is learnt that some of the guests who came to the banquet said to the contestants, ‘You are boring.. You are not making us happy’. When Milla Maggi told her fellow contestants about the humiliation she had suffered, they reportedly endorsed their similar experiences also.
Maggie, who was under immense pressure, brought the matter to the attention of the organizers and filed a complaint to that effect. But the organizers ignored the same stating that all this is normal in such an event. With nothing else to do, she withdrew from the competition and left for England.
In this regard, government officials are trying to protect those who behave inappropriately and are also trying to make her the culprit. It is learnt that the organizers suggested that the contestants take photos, dance, and do catwalks with the guests to entertain the guests at the banquet, which was attended by about 300 people. This made her uncomfortable. There are allegations that some of the bigwigs among the guests tried to force her to do the steps, even though she did not want to.
