Veteran actress Trisha, who has maintained her stature as a leading lady in South Indian cinema for over two decades, has reflected on her initial days in the film industry and the pivotal decisions that shaped her career. In a recent interview, the actress spoke about the emotional dilemma she faced before signing her first film and revealed an interesting condition she put forth to her mother.
“During my early days, while I was participating in beauty pageants and appearing in a few advertisements, I was offered my debut film,” Trisha said. “However, before signing the contract, I made it clear to my mother that if the film did not succeed, I didn’t want to be questioned. I was ready to leave the industry and return to my studies. Only after she agreed did I go ahead and sign the film.”
Trisha also shared that if her acting career had not taken off, she would have pursued a profession in psychology.
Trisha entered the film industry in 1999 and made her Telugu debut with Nee Manasu Naaku Telusu. She quickly gained prominence with successful films such as Varsham, Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana, Athadu, Pournami, and Stalin, establishing herself as a top-tier actress. Over the span of 25 years, she has worked alongside leading stars across Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Hindi cinema.
While her career witnessed a brief slowdown, Trisha is currently enjoying a strong second innings, actively working on major projects with stars like Chiranjeevi, Kamal Haasan, Ajith, and Vijay.
