Constriction of capital city Amaravati, that was pushed into cold storage during the YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s five year regime, is getting momentum with the formation of coalition government. Already massive construction works are being initiated with the finalization of tenders very recently, the pending works that were kept incomplete after the previous TDP regime are also now taking shape.

The residential quarters of top government officials are taking shape in  Amaravati. The work on the bungalows of the government’s principal secretaries and secretaries is in full swing. The reconstruction work of a total of 115 principal secretaries and secretaries’ bungalows in Rayapudi, each with an area of 5,90,761 square feet, under the G+1 scheme, has gained momentum for the past few days.

Although these works were undertaken during the previous TDP government, they were stopped at various stages during the YSRCP government. Recently, CRDA officials invited tenders for the reconstruction of these works with an estimated cost of Rs. 411.39 crore, and KMV Projects Limited (KMVPL) was awarded the contract by quoting the lowest and becoming L-1.

With this, the CRDA issued a Letter of Agreement (LOA) directing the completion of these buildings within two years. In this order, KMV company entered the field at the field level. Although CRDA officials had previously removed most of the vegetation covering the bungalows, the vegetation and bushes grew again.

The contractor company prepared large-scale clearings and removed all the crazy plants surrounding the bungalows. It was leveled well to allow the balance work to begin. Currently, it is focusing on the bungalows whose structure is complete.

In these, interior, flooring, ceiling, electrical, plumbing, and painting works are being done in a hurry. Once these works are completed, flooring works will be taken up. Structural works will be taken up for those in the basement and basement stages.

As per the tenders set by the government, the works like file foundation, superstructure with RC columns and beams, internal electrical, plumbing, IT, home automation etc. will be undertaken. After painting, works like water supply, street lights, and roads will be completed and prepared for commencement.
