Tirumala Laddu Controversy: Nara Lokesh Challenges Y.V. Subba Reddy

The controversy surrounding the Tirumala laddu is intensifying. Former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu recently accused the previous government of using animal fat in the preparation of Venkateswara Swamy laddus. This allegation was firmly denied by former TTD Chairman Y.V. Subba Reddy, who challenged Naidu to take an oath alongside his family.
In a media conference held near Renigunta Airport, Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh reacted to these developments. He challenged Subba Reddy to demonstrate his courage by coming to Tirupati and taking an oath, questioning whether he would actually show up.
Lokesh criticized the former YSRCP government, stating that it distanced ordinary devotees from the deity and significantly increased prices. He condemned Subba Reddy for his perceived arrogance regarding the price hikes and claimed that even the pink diamond had been politicized.
“Those who violated the law during the YSRCP government are now afraid to look at my red book,” Lokesh commented, underscoring his stance on accountability.
He further stated, “The quality of Ann Prasadam has diminished, and both the size and quality of Tirumala laddu have declined. While on a padayatra in Chandragiri, I warned Jagan not to approach the seven hills, stating it would lead to complete destruction. However, he did not listen. There has been unprecedented corruption in Tirumala, and adulterated ghee has been used in laddu preparation.”
