Hyderabad: The office of Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan received threatening phone calls and messages, causing alarm. An unidentified individual reportedly called the office, claiming to harm the leader. The staff promptly reported the threats to Pawan Kalyan and informed senior police officials. The police registered a case and launched an investigation.
The accused, identified as Nooka Mallikarjuna Rao, was arrested after a swift operation. According to the police, Mallikarjuna Rao made the calls under the influence of alcohol. The suspect is currently being interrogated at an undisclosed location.
Investigations revealed that the calls originated from the number 95055 05556, registered in the name of Mallikarjuna Rao from Thiruvuru, NTR district. The calls were traced to a mobile tower near Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium, Vijayawada. City Police Commissioner Rajasekhar Babu formed four special teams comprising Task Force, Special Branch, and Law and Order officials to track the suspect.
The police faced challenges locating the suspect due to his phone being switched off but managed to apprehend him after conducting searches in Vijayawada and Thiruvuru. Further investigations are underway to determine the motive behind the threats.
