Hyderabad: Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) Managing Director VC Sajjanar has urged victims of online betting scams not to resort to suicide, emphasizing that self-harm is not a solution to financial or personal crises.
In a statement addressing the issue, Sajjanar appealed to individuals struggling with losses incurred through betting apps, stating, “Suicide is not the answer. Overcoming challenges and rebuilding one’s life is the way forward.” He highlighted the emotional toll such decisions take on families, urging people to consider the impact on their loved ones before making impulsive choices.
“Life is invaluable, and setbacks are temporary. Instead of succumbing to despair, it is important to seek support and explore ways to resolve difficulties,” he stated. He further advised victims to share their problems with trusted individuals and seek professional guidance rather than viewing their circumstances as irreversible.
Drawing a parallel between life’s struggles and alternating phases of darkness and light, Sajjanar emphasized resilience, questioning, “Do hardships last forever? Does ending one’s life instantly erase all problems?”
His appeal comes amid rising concerns over the adverse impact of online betting apps, with multiple cases of financial distress and suicides being reported.
