Telangana Women’s Commission Chairperson Nirella Sharada has strongly condemned the actions of several commission members who tied rakhis to BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao during his recent appearance before the commission. Sharada expressed significant concern over this behavior, labeling it as inappropriate and compromising the commission’s integrity.
The incident came to light after KTR, who had previously made derogatory comments about the free RTC bus travel for women, was issued notices by the commission and appeared at their office. Sharada emphasized that as a commission member, maintaining impartiality and institutional integrity is crucial, and such actions that undermine the commission’s neutrality are unacceptable.
In her statement, Sharada criticized the members for bringing mobile phones into the commission’s premises in violation of rules and for secretly recording videos of the rakhi-tying event. She has directed the commission secretary to issue immediate notices to the involved members and initiate disciplinary measures.
Sharada reaffirmed the Women’s Commission’s commitment to impartiality and justice, asserting that any compromise on these principles will not be tolerated. She concluded by reiterating that the Telangana Women’s Commission is dedicated to upholding justice and maintaining its credibility.
