The Governor of Telangana, Tamilasai Soundaryarajan has stopped the bill of TSRTC’s merger into the Telangana Government. The Governor in turn has asked for the clarification of many issues in order to safeguard the rights of the employees.
The Telangana Government conducted a cabinet meeting earlier today and decided to merge the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation into the Government making all of its employees state government job holders. The bill was sent to the Governor and the latter raised many objections. She asked to showcase the funds allotted by the Central Government to the TSRTC in the bill and raised a few questions on the pay scale, promotions, rights, and retirement pensions of the TSRTC employees after the merger and sought clarification from the State Government. One has to wait and see if the KCR sends the required information and lets the bill be cleared amicably or makes a huge issue with his cold war with the Governor.
Meanwhile, the TSRTC employees started a bandh to create inconvenience to the Public as the Governor didn’t approve the bill and they even warned the latter to surround the Raj Bhavan. The Governor responded that she was with them in this regard and just sought clarification only to protect their rights after the merger. She reminded them that the support from the Raj Bhavan was given during the previous protest of the employees and asked them to call off the band to help the public.
