Hyderabad: The Telangana government has decided to constitute a trustee board for the Yadagirigutta temple, Minister for Endowments Konda Surekha informed the Legislative Assembly on Monday. Speaking during a discussion on the Endowments Act Amendment Bill, she stated that the Yadagirigutta Trust Board (YTD) would comprise 18 members with a tenure of two years. She clarified that the board’s chairman and members would not receive any salaries or allowances.
The minister further stated that the board’s budget would require government approval, and an IAS officer would serve as the Executive Officer (EO). The YTD board would also have the authority to establish and manage educational institutions, including spiritual and Vedic schools in Yadagirigutta.
Highlighting past challenges, Konda Surekha noted that the temple previously lacked adequate facilities for devotees. She stated that the government had invested significantly in infrastructure improvements and that the formation of a trustee board was aimed at further enhancing temple administration. She also clarified that temples generating an annual revenue of ₹100 crore or more would come under the jurisdiction of the Endowments Department.
