Telangana Conducts Grama Sabhas for Beneficiary Selection in Welfare Schemes

Tuesday, January 21, 2025
In a significant move to ensure transparency and inclusivity, Telangana has initiated village and ward meetings to identify beneficiaries for major welfare schemes. These meetings aim to streamline the selection process while directly engaging with the public to explain government initiatives and gather feedback.
Currently, village and ward meetings are being conducted across the state to select beneficiaries for key schemes, including Rythu Bharosa, Indiramma Atmiya Bharosa, new ration cards, and Indiramma housing. Applications for these schemes are being accepted on-site, with beneficiaries finalized during the meetings.
The meetings will continue until January 24, with efforts to provide clarity on the schemes and collect public opinions. In the GHMC limits, however, the official survey for identifying beneficiaries is still pending. Once the survey is completed, ward meetings in these areas will commence from February 1.
