In view of the ever growing rush of VVIPs at Tirumala, it became a difficult task to entertain letters from people’s representatives to provide special darshan for devotees. Though TTD seems to be liberal in honouring letters from peoples representatives of AP, it is finding it difficult to honour in the same way from the neighbouring states.
Since he became Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has been trying to persuade the AP government and also the TTD administration to honour letters being received from ministers, MPs, MLAs and MLCs of Telangana. With the intervention of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu finally TTD has decided to accommodate recommendation letters from Telangana also.
To ensure smooth functioning of this system, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is taking special care to regulate flow of such letters from the state. The Telangana Chief Minister’s Office has said that a special portal has been created for Telangana state ministers, MPs, MLAs and MLCs to send recommendation letters to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) online.
It has been clarified that from now on, it is mandatory to register the recommendation letters at https://cmottd.telangana.gov.in. The Telangana state government has formulated new guidelines for letters for darshan at TTD. CM OSD Vemula Srinivas sent a letter with the guidelines to ministers, MPs, MLAs and MLCs on Friday.
The Telangana CM’s Office has clarified that TTD will consider only letters generated with devotees and darshan details from the portal created by the CM’s Office. The CM OSD advised the public representatives to upload the scanned letter to TTD after signing and give the original letter to the devotees.
The login details used for CMRF should be used for the TTD darshan portal as well. The online system was introduced in the wake of experiences like Telangana public representatives issuing recommendation letters beyond their quota and causing inconvenience to devotees who went to Tirumala with them.
According to the Telangana CMO, public representatives should issue recommendation letters only for darshan from Monday to Thursday. Only one letter should be issued per day. VIP break darshan will be available on Monday and Tuesday. Along with this, accommodation will also be provided.
Darshan will be available for Rs. 300 on Wednesday and Thursday. There will be no accommodation facility. Devotees should go with the original letter. If there are minor children who do not have Aadhaar cards, they should go with their birth certificates.
