Telangana Chief Secretary warns IAS Against Acting Below Their status

An IAS officer stomping on the feet of the Chief Minister has created uproar in the administration. Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao has issued warnings to IAS officers and state government employees who are acting without regard to their status. He warned that strict action will be taken if they act in a way that belittles their status and diminishes their personality.

Key orders have been issued to this extent. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy also reprimanded the officers for acting in a manner befitting their status. This kind of style is not right. The CS has issued these orders as per the CM’s instructions.

CM Revanth Reddy launched the Indira Sauragiri Jala Vikasam scheme in Machharam, Nagarkurnool district on Monday. In a meeting organized on this occasion, IAS officer and Tribal Welfare Commissioner Sarath not only showered the CM with praise but also stomped on his feet.

This became a matter of heated debate. With this, Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao became serious about the way some IAS officers are acting and their behavior. He advised the IAS officers not to do anything that is not befitting their service status. He gave a strong warning to those who violate the rules, stating that disciplinary action will be taken against them.

In that order, the Chief Secretary gave several instructions to the IAS officers and issued key orders. There was a large-scale discussion on the incident of IAS officer Sarath touching the feet of CM Revanth Reddy. With this, CS Ramakrishna Rao responded to this matter. He was of the opinion that the improper behavior of the All India Services officers damages the reputation of the IAS.

He said that due to such actions, the public’s trust in the IAS officers is eroding. On this occasion, he advised the IAS officers to be dedicated to their duties as per Rule 3(1) of the IAS 1968. He strongly advised the IAS officers not to do anything that is not befitting the service status.

The Chief Secretary advised IAS and IPS officers to display dignity when meeting the public. He stated that IAS and IPS officers should behave with commitment, dedication and discipline in the performance of their duties. He also advised all the heads of departments in the Secretariat to also give instructions to their subordinate officers and employees not to violate the rules. He warned that disciplinary action will be taken against them if these rules are violated.
