BJP leadership that cultivated high hopes on Telangana expecting it would contribute many MPs this time, increasing its present strength of 4 MPs substantially, is seems to be upset as it is failing to get momentum of its campaign.
When compared to aggressive campaigns launched by both Congress and BRS, BJP is seen lagging behind. Much against its ambitious target of touching `double digit’ MPs from the state, winning more than half of total 17 Lok Sabha seats, presently worrying on keeping the present figure of 4 intact.
As except three candidates, all other candidates are practically `outsiders’ to the party cadre, joined BJP only in recent times, the party is finding it difficult to create momentum even among party cadre. The three-time MLA from Goshamahal Raja Singh is practically keeping silent, protesting that his candidature was not considered by the party leadership.
The party is worried that both Congress and BRS are targeting to isolate BJP by accusing it of colluding with other parties, on the lines of the campaign they successfully conducted during Assembly polls. While BRS is alleging that BJP colluded with Congress to isolate BRS from Telangana, the Congress is accusing that BRS surrendered to BJP to get release of KCR’s daughter on bail from Tihar Jail.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy openly accused that in a few constituencies ex MLAs and other important leaders of BRS are not taking part in the poll campaign, to ensure easy win for BJP. He named constituencies like Chevella, Malkajgir, Secunderabad and Mahabubnagar.
Amidst such a disappointing scenario, BJP has decided to release `Chargesheets’ against the Congress and BRS exposing their injustice to Telangana and also to prepare a special Telangana centric manifesto, after time for nominations over on April 25. BJP is expecting such an exercise will intensify their poll campaign.
Sources in the party say the charge sheets would highlight the failures of the BRS government during its 10-year rule and the failure to keep its key promises. Similarly, the charge sheets would also expose Congress failure to implement the promises made during the assembly polls.
