Telangana assembly budget session will be held from 24th of this month. Under the chairmanship of Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar and Council Chairman Gutta Sukhender Reddy, a review was conducted with various department officials on Thursday with regard to arrangements for the session.
Government Chief Secretary Shanta Kumari, DGP Jitender, Additional DG Mahesh Kumar Bhagwat, State Intelligence Chief Shivdhar Reddy, Hyderabad Police Commissioner Srinivas Reddy, R&B officers, traffic officers and GAD officers attended this review meeting.
A review was conducted on the actions to be taken by the officers during the assembly meetings. The police officers were ordered to arrange tight security so that there would be no disruption to the session. Government Whips Adi Srinivas and Ramachandra Naik also participated in this meeting.
It seems that the speaker has also discussed with the officials of the finance department as the full budget has to be presented in the assembly sessions. It is reported that the authorities should be prepared as the budget has to be introduced in the state only after the union budget is introduced in the Parliament.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Bhatti Vikramarka has been conducting reviews with the officials of the respective departments since the last few days to prepare budget estimations. Minister Jupallikrishna Rao reviewed the finances of the Excise Department on Thursday.
This will be the first Budget session for the Revanth Reddy-led Congress government in the state. Though the government announced the session will start from July 24th, it is not clear how many days it will continue.
Apart from the Budget, the government is likely to make some key announcements in the session on issues like the Crop Insurance Scheme. Bhatti Vikramarka already said that a decision will be announced in the Assembly after discussing details of the scheme.
The government is also said to be preparing to announce a Job Calender in the assembly, in view of unrest among unemployed youth in the state.
