TDP Move To Grab Jagan’s Pulivendula Municipality

Friday, March 28, 2025

Intending to give a big jolt to former Chief Minister and YCP Chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy, the Telugu Desam Party has been making hectic moves to grab Pulivendula Municipality, which is not only his political stronghold and also native town. As part of this, the TDP is moving its pawns to check Jagan’s hold over this town.

The yellow flag has already been hoisted in many municipalities in AP after the formation of a coalition government. The TDP has made a master plan to defeat Jaganmohan Reddy in Pulivendula too in any further elections. In the recent water users association polls, TDP succeeded to get hold over all committees unanimously, first time in Pulivendula area.

As expected, the local cadre is preparing to induct leaders who have strength among the people into the TDP. The TDP leaders of Pulivendula are also explaining the local situation to the high command. 20 families, including YSRCP councilor Shahida of ward 30 in Pulivendula Municipality, joined the TDP on Wednesday.

Along with them, a large number of leaders and activists from Pulivendula are preparing to join the TDP. In the general elections held in the state last year, the voters of Andhra Pradesh voted for the alliance of BJP, TDP and Jana Sena parties. In this election, the YSRCP was confined to only 11 seats.

In addition, people are strongly opposed to the developments that took place during the previous Jagan government and the way he acted as the Chief Minister. With this, party ranks belonging to the YSRCP are joining the TDP in various parts of the state.

When he was in power, Jagan set an ambitious target before the YSRCP ranks, saying Why Not 175? But after the YSRCP lost badly in the 2024 elections, the party did not even get opposition status. After over four and half decades, for the first time Jaganmohan Reddy’s family started losing its grip over Pulivendula.

While fingers of suspicion are focusing towards Kadapa MP Avinash Reddy in the brutal murder of former minister YS Vivekananda Reddy and Jaganmohan Reddy’s ill-treatment towards his mother and sister, are leading to divisions among his support base. Taking advantage from recent developments, TDP is moving ahead strategically to gain upper hand over local politics.
