TDP MLA Kolikapudi Denies Indiscipline charge, Asserts YCP Targeting Him

Monday, January 20, 2025

TDP’s Tiruvuru MLA Kolikapudi Srinivasa Rao, who has

been at the centre of a few controversies, appeared before the disciplinary committee of the party on Monday and refuted all charges against him. He alleged that it was YCP targeting him.

The committee comprises senior leader and state government advisor M.A. Sharif, Minister B.C. Janardhan Reddy, politburo member Varla Ramaiah, MLC P. Anuradha and RTC chairman K. Narayana.Earlier, Chief Minister Naidu had summoned the MLA and advised him to change his attitude. He was also summoned before the coordination committee headed by party state president Palla Srinivasa Rao.

The MLA said that on the 11th of this month, when a TDP worker died, he went to Gopalapuram village to console their family members. There, YCP members had barricaded the cement road laid by the government with thorns. There, the locals also had to cross the fence. That is why he removed the fence, he added.

He alleged that the YCP family members targeted him for removing the fence and are making fun of him attempting suicide. He said that the CC road was set up with the Panchayat resolution. He recalled that the YCP family threw water bottles at Chandrababu in 2013.

Kolikapudi reminded that the same family members had attacked former minister Jawahar and former MLA Swami Das in the past and broke their vehicles. He said that he explained all the developments that day before the disciplinary committee. He said that the people of Thiruvur will know what the facts are if they ask.

“It is my mistake to remove the barbed wire fence across the road? I asked the members of the disciplinary committee both in writing and directly,” said Kolikapudi Srinivas.

Meanwhile, TDP disciplinary committee member Konakalla Narayana said that all the details given by the MLA will be sent to the high command. “MLA Kolikapudi said that he was not involved in this dispute. The MLA made it clear that he removed the fence because the YSRCP people put up the fence,” he said.

TDP disciplinary committee member Varla Ramaiah clarified that anyone in the TDP should follow discipline. He made it clear that the Tiruvuru MLA is crossing the party line and all the members of the disciplinary committee told him today that MLA Kolikapudi’s behavior is not right.

He said that the MLA was told that the CM is serious about him. He recalled that the Tiruvuru MLA has appeared before the disciplinary committee twice in these seven months in two incidents. Varla Ramaiah said that a report on the Kolikapudi affair will be submitted to Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu soon.
