TDP leader and former president of NG Padu Mandal Parishad, Muppavarapu Veeraiah Chowdhury was murdered in Ongole town. Judging by the total of 38 stab wounds on his body, it is clear how brutally he was stabbed. Four youths who entered Veeraiah’s office on the old bypass road in the city stabbed him indiscriminately with knives and died on the spot. The murder took place at around 7.30 pm on Tuesday.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu will visit Ammanabrolu on Wednesday and visit the family of TDP leader Muppavarapu Veeraiah Chowdhury, will pay homage to Veeraiah’s body and attend the funeral. Home Minister Anita said that a thorough investigation is being conducted into the Veeraiah Chowdhury murder case. She said that the accused will not be spared and 12 teams have been formed to arrest the accused.
Veeraiah Chowdary, a resident of Ammanabrolu village, has been well-known to the political and business circles of Ongole city and the joint district for more than three decades. Veeraiah Chowdary, who was first introduced to the public as a relative of former ZP chairman Edara Haribabu, has gradually risen in the political and business circles and is a recognized leader in the joint district.
He is currently the main TDP leader of the SNpadu constituency and the official spokesperson of the Bapatla Parliament TDP. Veeraiah Chowdary, who previously served as the Naguluppalapadu MPP between 2014-19, has been more active in politics for the last 10 years. He is engaged in liquor and real estate businesses on his own.
Veeraiah Chowdary, who has been in this business for a long time, is likely to have differences with those businesses and other circles. However, now that the TDP has returned to power, he has taken up the liquor business again. As Veeraiah’s office where the incident took place was near the SP’s office, SP AR. Damodar and other police officers reached the spot in large numbers as soon as they came to know about the matter.
Veeraiah Chaudhary’s body was shifted to RIMS for postmortem and an immediate investigation was initiated. It is reported that six CIs and 10 SIs are investigating. However, based on the manner in which the incident took place, the police believe that the perpetrators of the murder are professional killers.
