TDP Leader Buddha Venkanna Files Complaint Against YSRCP MP Vijay Sai Reddy

Saturday, December 21, 2024

TDP senior leader Buddha Venkanna lodged a formal complaint with the Vijayawada Police Commissioner against YSRCP Rajya Sabha Member Vijay Sai Reddy in connection with comments he passed against TDP leader N. Chandrababu Naidu, who once was the Chief Minister. Such comments, Venkanna asserted, were derogatory and offensive. In a written petition, he requested the police to take prompt legal action.

Speaking to the media, Venkanna referred to a controversial statement by Vijay Sai Reddy, who reportedly said that Naidu would be put behind bars if the YSRCP came back to power. Venkanna also made serious allegations against the YSRCP, stating that the party had illegally occupied Kakinada Port by force. He also spoke about the YSRCP’s regime between 2019 and 2024, stating that its leaders used violence and illegal activities to remain in power.

Venkanna says many citizens who suffered under the YSRCP government could only attain justice and relief when TDP came back to power. He also condemned YSRCP for caste attacks on the likes of KV Rao who raised their voice against such acts by the party.

On the Kakinada Port issue, Venkanna challenged Vijay Sai Reddy to prove that the YSRCP did not illegally take over the port. He accused the ruling party of attacking its critics by targeting their caste, rather than addressing the substance of their claims.

He asked for stern judicial action against Vijay Sai Reddy for his threatening remarks against Chandrababu Naidu in his plea. He also warned that if the police continued to ignore it, he will surely move on to the courts for remedy. He said any offending remarks from Vijay Sai Reddy further and he would react sternly.
