Telugu Desam Party Spokesperson Nilayapalem Vijay Kumar urged the government to take immediate steps to take over the Lepakshi lands. He said that all the frauds done in Jagan’s regime are being exposed and some vested interests are attempting to take over possession of some lands mortagazed in banks.
He said that the state government should take early steps before acquiring 2,650 acres of Lepakshi lands by Delhi-based Global Emerging Technology. In the last five years, he alleged that Jaganmohan Reddy tried to sell 8,844 acres of Lepakshi lands for just Rs 500 crore.
Vijay Kumar said that Jagan did not make any effort in the last 5 years regarding the auction of Lepakshi lands, but tried to tie up those lands to his relatives and friends. It wondered that the 4,190 acres acquired in Indu Banks were auctioned for only Rs. 501 crores against a loan of Rs 4,000 crores with the bankers’ consortium.
He expressed anger that another 2650 acres were tried to be tied up to a Delhi-based company called Global Emerging Markets for just Rs28 crore. He deplored that it is surprising that the Tribunal, APIIC and ED refused to be implicated in this case. He said that the absence of both APIIC and ED in the Lepakshi auction case in the tribunal raises suspicions.
He lamented that besides 4190 acres of land in the banks, 36 acres worth of private land in Hyderabad was also included. He reminded that if the private lands in Hyderabad are sold, there is a possibility of getting more than Rs 1,000 crore funds to the government.
He reminded that land is very necessary for industrialization in Andhra Pradesh. Vijay Kumar believes that if the government takes over the Lepakshi lands, they will be of great use to the state. He said that there is a conspiracy to steal thousands of acres in the state and asked the coalition government to take over the Lepakshi lands immediately.
