The TDP leaders have demanded for a thorough probe into AP FiberNet scam during the YCP regime by the CID and Vigilance agencies. TDP MLC Ramgopal Reddy and official spokesperson Maddipatla Suryaprakash in a complaint given to Chief Secretary Nirab Kumar Prasad explained how a large-scale scam was committed during the previous government period.

The MLCs wanted to investigate three other people who worked in the organization including Fiber Net’s former Managing Director Madhusudan Reddy. They asked to investigate MD Seshireddy of the Green Lantern company, who had entered into an agreement with Fiber Net during the previous government’s regime.

He also alleged that large scale irregularities took place in the Fiber Net company between 2019-24. The complaint stated that hundreds of crores of rupees public money was diverted by handing over the government organisation at the mercy of some private individuals.

The MLC stated that the billing software was tampered with and transferred to Mumbai-based benami companies. Madhusudan Reddy, who collected crores of rupees in the name of Fiber Net and diverted that amount to his binami company. With this money, he alleged that Reddy  had accumulated properties with benami across the country.

He alleged that the Fiber Net was used as a shade for the payment of salaries to YCP activists, of which crores of rupees were spent resorting to large scale irregularities.

They lamented that Madhusudan Reddy, in the capacity of former MD of AP Fibernet under Jaganmohan Reddy’s rule, distributed the company’s income like his own jagir without any accountability. Apart from making appointments beyond the needs of the organization, key posts and contracts were given to relatives, he said.

Moreover, they said that ahead of elections they have indiscriminately brought loans and spent that amount without any authority and accountability.
