For the first time in Pulivendula, known as the fortress of YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s family TDP and its allies have won all irrigation societies unanimously. After 1978, for the first time the YSR family failed to show their presence in the elections in this area.

In the wake of the water association elections in YSR district, the police have placed Kadapa MP YS Avinash Reddy under house arrest. The police took these steps because if he comes out, there will be a law and order problem.

Elections were held on Saturday for a total of 6149 irrigation societies and 49020 territorial constituency members in the state. In these elections TDP and its allies have won 95 percent of societies as Presidents and Vice Presidents unanimously. The respective territorial constituency members elect the president and vice-presidents of the irrigation societies.

The presidents of these irrigation societies elect the presidents of the distributive committees. The members were elected unanimously for the territorial constituency members. General general meetings were held and the presidential and vice-presidential elections were also completed. All the societies came under the NDA alliance.

In some villages, problems between some leaders within the ruling party, differences of opinion between allied parties, and in some places, YSRCP leaders entered the fray and created disputes, making the territorial constituency elections inevitable. The elections of some irrigation societies have been postponed. The police had to intervene here and there.

TDP and YSRCP leaders clashed in the Kudithipalem irrigation association elections in the joint Nellore district. The police dispersed the ranks of the two parties who were arguing in Kisthipuram in Vinjamuru mandal. The irrigation association elections in Iskadamerla in Kondapuram mandal and Giddalur in Saidapuram mandal were postponed.

There was a clash in the Navagaon water association elections in Palakonda mandal of Parvathipuram Manyam district. An unidentified person stole election materials in Panukuvalasa territorial constituency. The water board election in Ganapavaram, NTR district was postponed due to clashes.
