YSR District TDP President Srinivas Reddy has advised YSRCP leader and Kadapa Mayor Suresh Babu that it would be better for him to resign from office, as he cannot escape from the irregularities he committed in the Municipal Corporation.
He said that already it was proven his irregularities beyond any doubts and already irregularities in Rs 26 lakh worth works were proven with solid evidence during his 10 years of office and many more irregularities are likely to be exposed in the ongoing investigations. The TDP leader made it clear that the Mayor cannot escape punishment as his mistakes are being exposed.
Srinivasa Reddy said that recently, vigilance officials have also conducted inspections. He reminded that the Municipal Commissioner has issued notices to Mayor Suresh Babu. He made it clear that the government will also give him notices today or tomorrow. If the people of Kadapa city elected Suresh Babu as corporator and made him to sit in the post of mayor twice, the TDP leader deplored that he had used the corporation as he pleased in the last ten years.
He accused him of announcing the works and allocating those works to his wife and sons. He was furious that he himself signed the cheques related to the bills and gave them to his wife and sons. Srinivasa Reddy said that many corporators resigned from YSRCP and came out because they could not stay in the YSRCP under the shadow of a corrupt and arrogant Mayor.
He criticized that there is probably no other corporation in the state that is so corrupt. He lamented that the mayor has acted like a dictator for ten years and that he has become agitated with the intention of not being able to stop him.
“The commissioner has issued notices to the Kadapa mayor. The government will also issue a notice to Mayor Suresh Babu. Suresh Babu must definitely reply to these notices. We are leaving the matter of resigning to his discretion. We are investigating the work assigned to the mayor’s family in these ten years. Corruption as bad as the one that happened in the Kadapa corporation will not happen anywhere else”, he added.
