Hyderabad: In a new twist to the ongoing investigation into anchor Swetcha’s suicide, Poornachander — the man facing allegations from her family — has released an open letter denying any role in her death. He claimed that the accusations made by Swetcha’s parents were false and shared emotional details about her life, their relationship, and her battle with depression. According to him, the letter was necessary to counter the “false narrative” being spread against him.
Poornachander revealed that he had known Swetcha since 2009 when they worked together at T-News, though their bond deepened only in 2020. He stated that he supported her emotionally after her two failed marriages and helped care for her daughter from 2022 onward. He alleged that Swetcha’s mental distress stemmed largely from parental neglect, claiming she was raised away from her parents and often spoke about the emotional impact of that abandonment. He also said frequent fights at her parents’ home pushed her to live independently in Kawadiguda.
Adding that Swetcha was never truly content despite putting on a happy front in public, Poornachander said he assumed father-like responsibility for her daughter’s education and well-being. His letter, which contradicts her parents’ allegations, has added complexity to the case and is expected to intensify the ongoing investigation.
