Surender Reddy’s career at stake after ‘Agent’ fiasco

One bad Friday will create irreversible damage to a director’s career. This has been proved several times as many notable and promising filmmakers struggled to revive their careers after scoring just one untimely debacle. This is now likely to happen to Tollywood’s hotshot director Surender Reddy.

Akkineni Akhil’s latest film Agent which tanked heavily at the box office has brought a lot of bad reputation to Surender Reddy. Having delivered big hits like Race Gurram, Dhruva, and SyeRaa Narasimha Reddy, Surender Reddy is expected to cut the mustard with Agent. Unfortunately, he came up with a forgettable product which caused a lot of embarrassment to his popularity.

The magnitude of the fiasco is such high that Surender Reddy’s career is now at stake. He will need a lot of time to recover from this unexpected blip. Moreover, he might also find it difficult to convince star heroes after delivering such a huge flop. Before the release of Agent, there were speculations that Surender Reddy will next team up with Allu Arjun for a big-budget entertainer. Unfortunately, the disappointing result has now put him between a devil and a deep blue sea. There is no clarity on when will Allu Arjun allot dates due to his busy schedule for the next couple of years.

Also, there are no other star which is ready to work with him. As ‘Agent’ producer Anil Sunkara boldly stated that they commenced shooting without a script, Surender might need to come up with bound scripts from now onwards to convince heroes.

On the whole, the debacle of Agent has put Surender Reddy’s career in dire straits. He needs to rectify so many things to make a strong comeback.
