The Supreme Court of India has issued a temporary stay on the two years jail sentence conviction of MP Rahul Gandhi regarding the defamation case against Indian PM Modi. The Apex Court has made Rahul breathe a sigh of relief finally.
The Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi in the parliament had some scathing remarks on the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi by declaring that all fraudsters of India like Nirav Modi, Lalit Modi, and Narendra Modi have a common surname that is Modi and immediately he was suspended from the house. BJP MP Purnesh Modi registered a defamation case against Rahul Gandhi and both the Gujarat High Court and Sessions Court felt that the defamation was indeed true and sentenced Rahul to 2 years of prison. However, the Congress scion challenged this decision in the Supreme Court of India and the three Justice benches felt that there was no proof or enough evidence that Gandhi ridiculed the surname Modi as it was homogeneous but didn’t confine to any particular family.
With this, the conviction got a stay until the next hearing making Rahul Gandhi a temporary winner in the whole fiasco. One has to wait and see how BJP biggies respond to this case and deal with it in the upcoming days.
