Former MP of Rajya Sabha, Y Sujana Chowdary is all set to contest in upcoming elections as an MP for the Parliament. The ex-Minister is preparing everything in his range and gathering support meanwhile.
Hailing from Guntur, YS Chowdary was inducted into the Upper House by the then-government TDP and was also made a Minister of Science and Technology. After TDP’s defeat in 2019, the MP shifted to BJP for better political chances and worked as a bridge between the former alliance partners TDP and BJP even though they became enemies in the outside world. Now the former MP is interested in contesting as an MP from Guntur and for the same reason, he came all the way from the capital and met a few TDP leaders there headed by the TDP MLA Alapati Raja. Since Kanna Lakshminarayana joined TDP officially and the other senior leader Rayapati became old, chances are more for Sujana to be the prime contestant for the Guntur MP seat.
However, all these equations depend on the future BJP-TDP alliance and seat distribution. Since the two parties indirectly declared that they are still crossing swords, the hopes of Sujana might be diluted. Political observers say that despite the alliance, the Kamma community dominates in Guntur and that will help Sujana no matter which party he carries in elections.
