The Srisailam Devasthanam officials have decided to request Prime Minister Narendra Modi to provide financial assistance of Rs. 1,657 crore for the development of the Srisailam temple. Prime Minister Modi is visiting Srisailam on the 16th of this month. On this occasion, the temple officials will meet the Prime Minister under the leadership of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan.
The temple officials are planning to develop a corridor in the Srisailam area like the Ujjain Mahakal and Kashi Vishwanath corridors. They will also request the Prime Minister to resolve the issue of the 5,362 acres of land belonging to the temple. Proposals have been prepared to carry out various development works in the temple premises with the funds of Rs. 1,657 crore to be sought from the Center.
Rs. 90 crore for the new Q complex. Rs. 65 crore is expected to be spent on the construction of salumandapalas from Gangadhara Mandapam to Nandi Mandapam. Similarly, Rs. 25 crore will be spent on the development of Kailash Manasarovar-Elephant Pond and Rs. 25 crore on Kailash Kalakshetra. Rs. 13 crore is expected to be spent on the construction of a new Prasad preparation pond and Rs. 10 crore on the construction of a mass Abhishek Mandapa.
Proposals are being prepared to spend Rs. 5 crore on the construction of a bridge from the temple workshop to Rudra Park and Rs. 95 crore on the development of Siddaramappa Pond. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has issued orders for the development of Srisailam Kshetra on the lines of Tirumala. The Chief Minister has directed that plans be drawn up to develop Srisailam region spiritually, as a tourist destination and environmentally.
The Chief Minister held a review meeting with the Endowment and Forest departments on the development of Srisailam Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple Development on Sunday. Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, Endowments Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy and top officials attended the review.
CM Chandrababu directed that plans to be made to connect national highways to the Srisailam temple. He made several suggestions for the development of the tiger sanctuary in Srisailam. Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan said that Srisailam should be developed by examining the facilities in other famous temples including Sabarimala.
