Monday, April 28, 2025

The key accused in the liquor scam case, Raj Kasireddy, has been absconding after the AP High Court ordered him to appear before the SIT officials for questioning. In this context, the AP SIT officials have intensified the search operations for him. On Monday, they conducted search operations in several areas of Hyderabad metropolis.. Jubilee Hills as well as Gachibowli and the Finance District.

In that order, notices were pasted at his residence. Also, searches were conducted at the Areta Hospital in Rayadurgam, where his family members are directors, as well as the ED Creations office belonging to Raj Kasireddy. However, the SIT officials confirmed that Raj Kasireddy is in the country only. They stated that they had already issued an LOC against him.

They expressed confidence that Raj Kasireddy will soon come out of hiding. They found that Raj Kasireddy switched off his phones and was using other phones. A total of 50 officials participated in the raids conducted for Raj Kasireddy.

AP SIT officials have already identified that he played a key role in the liquor scam. Even though the AP High Court had given clear orders. During YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s regime the liquor brands that were available in the market till then were put aside and J brands were brought in.

The health of the people was seriously affected by these brands. Moreover, arrangements were made to ensure that all liquor sales were made through direct cash payments rather than digital payments. This issue also drew severe criticism and became a critical election issue. After the formation of coalition government in the state, the J brands brought by the Jagan government in the past were canceled and the previous brands were made available.

However, due to the liquor scam, there were allegations that thousands of crores of cash changed hands. With this, the government formed an SIT and started an investigation into this matter. As part of that, the SIT officials are interrogating those involved in this liquor scam.
