The SIT has issued notices to the personal assistant of BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha in a phone tapping case that is creating a stir in Telangana politics. It is learnt that the authorities have identified some key audio recordings related to Kavitha PA on the phone of former Special Intelligence Branch (SIB) DSP Praneeth Rao, who is facing charges as the main accused in the phone tapping scam.
The SIT team has summoned Kavitha PA for questioning to get complete details based on these audios and to conduct a deeper investigation into the case. With the issuance of these notices, speculations are growing that more leaders of the BRS party may be involved in the phone tapping case.
According to the information received so far, the SIT has confirmed that the phones of a total of 618 prominent people were illegally tapped in this scam.
