The SIT has found that some of the bribes received by the YSRCP leaders, who looted thousands of crores in the liquor scam, were spent on election expenses in Prakasam, Nellore and Chittoor districts.
It has been found that former MLA Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy played a key role in distributing corrupt funds to candidates from several constituencies who contested on behalf of the YSRCP. It has been confirmed that the money was received by these sitting MLAs at that time, their PAs, and YSRCP MPPs who were running the mandals within the constituencies.
It has been proven with evidence that the YSRCP government leaders, who looted more than Rs. 3,500 crore in the form of liquor bribes, spent about Rs 300 crores of it on election expenses in these 3 districts alone.
The SIT has concluded with scientific and technical evidence that the party’s main leader and the then Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy’s closest aide, Chevireddy Bhaskara Reddy, led the way in distributing the money to the candidates.
The SIT has revealed that Balaji Yadav, Naveen Krishna, and gunman Dubbaka Giribabu, who worked for Chevireddy, brought and distributed the money from dens in Hyderabad and Tadepalli. At that time, YSRCP leaders gave bribes of Rs 1 crore to leaders in all mandals of the constituency, and Rs 50 lakh to those who were influential in one and two mandals.
Village-level leaders who could be influential were given no less than Rs 10 lakh each. The SIT has concluded that Balaji Yadav and Naveen Krishna went to dens in Tadepalli and Hyderabad on many occasions and took money and gave it to YSRCP sitting MLAs, their PAs and mandal-level leaders. All the technical evidence has been included in the charge sheet.
The leaders used the Niharika Interlake Apartment in Khajaguda, Hyderabad as a den to store bribes. One of the accused, Beharoon Sajeel Sheikh, initially stored Rs 10 crore in this den. Later, it was moved to Maruti Towers in Prashasan Nagar. The money reached Chevireddy through various channels.
Saif Ahmed, one of the accused in the scam, deposited Rs 20 to 25 crores in O2 Square Apartment in Hyderabad. The money was received by the YSRCP candidates through Chevireddy’s men. Kommareddy Avinash Reddy, who is A-46 in the case, brought Rs 3 crores from Hyderabad to Tadepalli on one occasion and gave it to the YSRCP candidates. The SIT has concluded that he travelled between Hyderabad and Vijayawada on many occasions.
