A SIT has been formed in AP on the illegal smuggling of ration rice. AP CID IG Vineet Brijlal has been appointed as the chairman of the SIT. Five other members have been appointed. Uma Maheshwar (CID SP), Ashok Vardhan (DSC), Balasundara Rao (DSC), Govinda Rao (DSC), and Rattaiah (DSP) are its members.
The SIT formed by the AP government will investigate all the cases of illegal smuggling of rice. It will also investigate the 13 FIRs registered in Kakinada district. Apart from this, the order states that cases registered across the state will also be investigated.
The government has ordered that reports related to the investigation be submitted every 15 days. AP Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan recently visited Kakinada Port and uncovered illegal trafficking of ration rice. Ration rice being transported abroad in a huge ship was caught red-handed. This matter became a sensation across the state.
After that, Kakinada Collector Shanmohan revealed that the Stella ship at Kakinada Port has been seized and a multi-disciplinary committee has been formed with officials from five departments to investigate the matter. The Collector said that a team has been formed with officials from Revenue, Police, Civil Supply, Port and Customs.
He said that there is a failure of the officials in the illegal trafficking of ration rice. He said that an investigation is being conducted into the illegal trafficking of ration rice and the investigation will reveal how the rice was transported from the godowns to the ship. He said that who is exporting the rice in this ship and where the rice is located will be investigated.
A large amount of rice is transported abroad from Kakinada Port. There is no shortage of criticism that big leaders are behind this. There is criticism that the ruling party leaders in the previous YSRCP government were involved in illegal rice trafficking. The opposition parties are currently alleging that alliance leaders are involved in illegal trafficking.
It is known that Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan discussed the Kakinada port issue with CM Chandrababu Naidu. He asked for appropriate action to be taken against those responsible. Ministers Nadendla Manohar and Atchannaidu also discussed the rice mafia.
The ministers decided to consider the movement of ration rice worth thousands of crores abroad as an organized crime. In addition, recently CM Chandrababu also gave serious orders to the officials asking them to take steps to stop the movement of ration rice. In this context fresh orders have been issued to form an SIT.
