Shooting at cow vigilantes on the outskirts of Hyderabad, BJP to protest at DGP office today

The incident of a man opening fire with a gun on Sonu Singh alias Prashant, a member of the Gorakh Dal, in Yamnampet in Medchal district, created a stir. The BJP has called for a protest in front of the DGP office in protest against this attack on Thursday. Sonu Singh, a resident of Rampalli in Keesara mandal, has been trying to stop those who are illegally transporting cows for the past few days.

In this process, After receiving information that cattle were being illegally transported, Prashant and two others followed the vehicle going from Ghatkesar to Pocharam. They stopped it at Pocharam. They asked him to show the necessary permits to transport the cattle. They did not have any such documents. This led to an argument between the two groups.

At that time, a man named Ibrahim Qureshi, who was in the vehicle, opened fire with a gun. A total of four rounds were fired. A bullet hit Prashanth. He collapsed on the spot, bleeding profusely. Prashanth was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital. Later, he was taken to Yashoda Hospital in Secunderabad for better treatment.

Doctors said that he is currently undergoing treatment in the ICU and his health condition is stable. He said that surgery is required to remove the bullet from his body. The Pocharam police, along with the Special Operations Team (SOT) and Crime Teams, have started an investigation into the incident. The clues team inspected the scene and collected forensic evidence.

The IT department is engaged in identifying the accused by analyzing CCTV footage and mobile data. Rachakonda Police Commissioner G Sudheer Babu and Malkajgiri DCP PV Padmaja visited the scene of the incident.  BJP leaders expressed deep anger over the incident. Alleging that the cow transport mafia and AIMIM are involved, they demanded immediate justice and an end to the mafia’s activities.

Sonu’s mother demanded that the government immediately arrest those responsible for this incident. She said that her son has been preventing illegal cow transport for five or six years. Union Minister G Kishan Reddy  speaking, demanded that the activities of the cow transport mafia be stopped immediately.

He also alleged that the negligence of the police was behind this incident. Stating that he had spoken to the DGP and other officials, he expressed concern that the law and order situation in the state was deteriorating day by day. State BJP president N Ramachandra Rao and MP Etala Rajender alleged that the AIMIM goons committed this incident to intimidate BJP and RSS workers.
