YSRTP founder YS Sharmila is in deep thinking about whether or not to merge her party with Indian National Congress to pursue her own political career. The daughter of YSR however has to pick one between an offer she can’t refuse or to soothe her brother.
Going into the details, Sharmila floated her own party in Telangana since her brother is ruling the AP state already. After preparing grounds for her own space in Telangana politics, Sharmila is now thinking to make it big by taking a huge leap to merge her party with the Congress. Already the TPCC Chief Revanth Reddy who is close to the YSR family started talks with Karnataka’s Deputy CM DK Shivakumar and the latter mediated between the High Command and Sharmila. All said and done, she is speculated to be offered an MP seat in Rajya Sabha if she merges her YSRTP with Congress and gives her vote bank. On the flip side, if she befriends Congress, it would be a huge insult and setback to her brother Jagan who resented Congress and floated his own party YSRCP.
Observers are claiming that Sharmila might merge her party and become an MP rather than lose a chance to make it big in politics because her current plans to contest as an MLA might backfire. One has to wait and see what step Sharmila takes in the near future keeping her political career in mind.
