The founder of YSRTP, Sharmila has had enough of fighting alone in Telangana as she is looking forward to working in a big National party like Congress. The latest update from her camp reveals that the lady leader has agreed to merge her party.
Sharmila started her official and solo political journey in Telangana with her YSRTP and did a good amount of Padayatra touring all the places where her late father YSR used to have a huge influence. Despite the popularity, Sharmila failed to attract big leaders into the party and now she is at a crossroads since the Telangana elections are approaching. At this juncture, the Deputy CM of Karnataka, Shiva Kumar initiated the talks between YS Sharmila and the Congress High Command but the daughter of YSR agreed only for an alliance. Its then Working President of TPCC, Revanth Reddy stepped in and sent a detailed report to Sonia Gandhi to merge the party rather than having an alliance as the same mistake last time when TDP and Congress formed an alliance in 2019 cost a lot since KCR used it as anti-Telangana. So the talks have succeeded and Sharmila has agreed to merge YSRTP and Congress as she gets an MP seat in return alongside the Regional Incharge position for Congress in the T-state.
This has to be a sensational twist and turn in Telangana Politics and now the battle would be a triple-heat game among BRS, BJP, and Congress. For now, everyone has to wait for an official time and date for the merger.
