South actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu is all excited about her upcoming mythological starrer Shaakuntalam. Expressing her joy and excitement towards the release of Shaakuntalam on April 14, Samantha dropped a new poster on social media.
Sharing the same, the Yashoda actress wrote- ‘We are ready. Really really ready this time! And very excited to meet you all in theaters and welcome you into the world of #ShaakuntalamOnApril14.’
As we all know that Shaakuntalam was initially planned for a grand theatrical release in February of this year. However, the film got postponed due to various reasons including Samantha’s health condition ‘Myositis’ a well as the makers decided to release the film in a 3D format.
Now with all heavy expectations, Shaakuntalam is all set to entertain the audience on April 14, 2023. Tollywood filmmaker Gunasekhar has written and directed this film while his daughter Neelima Guna is producing the film under their maiden banner Gunaa Teamworks in association with Dil Raju’s production house Sri Venkateswara Creations.
The historical film which is based on the popular play Abhignyana Shakuntalam stars the Majili in the titular role of Princess Shakuntala. Apart from Samantha, Shaakuntalam also features Dev Mohan, Aditi Balan, Madhoo, Mohan Babu, Gautami and others in vital roles.
Recently, the lead pair of Shaakuntalam Samantha and Dev Mohan along with Gunasekhar, Neelima Gunaa and Hanshita Reddy visited the Peddamma Temple to seek blessings for their film.
