Journalist and Sakshi TV analyst Krishnam Raju is known to have admitted that he made those comments against the women of the capital Amaravati out of spite against Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. He was arrested by the police for making inappropriate comments in a recent Sakshi TV channel debate calling Amaravati the capital of prostitutes.
The court ordered judicial remand and the main accused was taken to the Guntur District Jail. Later, the court allowed the police to interrogate him in custody for three days. With this, the Thullur police took him into custody from the jail on Friday. After conducting medical examinations at the Guntur Government Hospital (GGH), he was taken to the Traffic Police Station in Mandam and interrogated.
The interrogation took place from 3 pm to 9 pm in the presence of a lawyer. He was presented with paper clippings related to the money deposited in his bank account, the list of phone numbers with whom he spoke, his comments on women in the capital, and the explanation he gave afterwards.
Thullur DSP Murali Krishna, a team of other DSPs and CIs interrogated him at length. However, Krishnam Raju evaded answers to many questions and did not give direct answers. When asked why he was biased against the capital Capital, he reportedly said that he had no bias against the capital and that he spoke like that out of anger against CM Chandrababu.
He replied that Chandrababu was biased against him from the beginning and that he had caused him trouble when he was working as a journalist in a newspaper. He said that he had initially worked in Chittoor, was transferred to Hyderabad after causing trouble there, was sent back to Anantapur from there, and finally was fired from his job in Anantapur.
Alleging that Chandrababu is responsible for all this, which is why he is angry with him. When asked why his bank account received a large amount of money from Sakshi Channel and YCP leaders, he replied that the management of that channel gave him thousands of rupees as remuneration.
It is also learnt that he said that YCP leaders used to give advertisements to his magazine News and Views and also to a YouTube channel called AP TV Journalist, and they deposited the money for those advertisements in his account. He replied that he has been going to those channels for analysis for the past five years. Krishnam Raju will also be questioned on Saturdays and Sundays also.
