BRS leader RS Praveen Kumar has strongly hit back at the allegations made by Minister Konda Surekha, asserting that she lacked the credibility to make such claims. Addressing the media at Telangana Bhavan on Saturday, Praveen Kumar explained the Gurukula Baat initiative, launched by BRS working president KTR, as a program aimed at addressing the pressing issues faced by students in Gurukula institutions.
Praveen Kumar also pointed out that the Congress party seemed to be unsettled by the success of Gurukula Baat. Responding to Surekha’s accusation that he was poisoning minds, he questioned how a mother could make such false and malicious statements. He emphasized his long-standing commitment to the welfare of thousands of students, prioritizing their needs over personal gain.
The BRS leader also took a dig at Konda Surekha by recalling incidents from Warangal, accusing her of unethical practices in the past. He reminded her of an instance when she had been publicly scolded, with former CI Nagaraju serving as a witness. Praveen Kumar also criticized Surekha for focusing on irrelevant topics, such as rave parties and biryani content on social media, instead of addressing important issues like the food crisis in Gurukula schools.
Praveen Kumar further suggested that Konda Surekha’s comments might have been made under the influence of alcohol and urged her to refrain from making defamatory statements. He reiterated that Gurukula Baat was aimed at improving the lives of students, and if Surekha was unable to address educational issues, the BRS would step in to take action. Praveen Kumar also stressed that he would not stoop to her level and advised her to stop making public statements that could harm the dignity of women in Telangana.
In a final note, Praveen Kumar mentioned that the court had ordered legal proceedings against Konda Surekha for her harmful remarks against women. He questioned her qualifications to hold a ministerial position and highlighted his own professional achievements, including the national award he received during his time as an IPS officer. He challenged Surekha to provide evidence of any wrongdoing on his part and demanded that the matter be referred to the CBI for a thorough investigation.
This war of words between the BRS leader and the Minister continues to escalate, with both sides making bold claims and counterclaims.
