Rs 1,052 crore works sanctioned In Amaravati core Facilities

The state government has allocated Rs 1,052 crore for the construction of facilities in the government building complex (core area) spread over 1450 acres within the Amaravati capital area. In the CRDA meeting held on Friday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, it was decided to immediately call for tenders for these works.

In this meeting, there was a discussion on the expansion of the Seed Access Road and decided to start the work immediately since farmers in the Penumaka revenue area had given their lands. Rs 622 crore has been allocated for this. It has been decided to expand the elevated corridor to be built from Sitanagaram to Manipal Hospital on National Highway 16.

Earlier, it was decided to build it up to Sundarayya Nagar and set up a normal junction where it meets the national highway. Now, it will be built directly up to the national highway and a trumpet junction will be set up in a modern way. It was also decided to provide facilities in advance of construction in the government core area in Kondama Raju Palem, where government offices are currently being constructed.

This area will house the Secretariat, Assembly, High Court, MLA, MLC, high officials and judges. Rs. 1052 crore will be spent on facilities like electricity, roads, drinking water and drainage. It is learnt that several key decisions were taken in this meeting on Green and Blue Planning. Along with the expansion of embankments, it was decided to take up the construction of reservoirs and canals as soon as possible.

The Chief Minister instructed the officials to implement the already approved plan. It was also decided to establish a 30 percent Green and Blue Zone to make Amaravati a world-class city. The issue of transferring the responsibility of major works from CRDA to ADC was discussed.

He instructed that since the responsibility of the work has already been transferred, there should be no problems with the officials and that no mistakes should be made anywhere. The responsibilities of the CCDMC were also discussed in this meeting. Minister Dr P. Narayana, Chief Secretary Vijayanand and others participated in this meeting.
