Monday, July 1, 2024

Phone tapping that created political jolts in Telangana has now spread to Andhra Pradesh suspecting tapping of TDP key leader and its general secretary Nara Lokesh phone. This was exposed after he received a security alert directly from Apple.

The TDP leaders are under fire saying that it was the YCP government that was involved in the phone tapping and hacking of Nara Lokesh. Expressing shock and agitation over the AP Police mischief towards political opponents of the ruling party, TDP sought the immediate intervention of the Election Commission of India (ECI).

Lokesh has received a tapping and hacking alert notification on his phone from Apple. Apple also sent an email to his phone saying that there is an attempt to hack and tap his  phone with unknown software. He was advised to take proper precautions to avoid phone tapping and hacking.

TDP took this matter to the attention of the ECI. TDP former Rajya Sabha Member Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar has written a letter to the ECI saying that Lokesh’s phone was tapped through unknown agencies. He said that iPhone messages were received that Lokesh’s phone was tapped with the help of Pegasus software. Similar messages also came to Lokesh in March 2024.

Ravindra Kumar recalled that TDP has brought to the notice of ECI earlier also on several occasions about the `illegal activities’ of state DGP Rajendranath Reddy and Intelligence Chief PSR Anjaneyu, who are allegedly acting as stooges of the ruling party.

He said that the state DGP and intelligence chiefs are discriminating against the members of the NDA alliance. He also said that the appointment of DGP Rajendranath Reddy, who has been in charge for the last two years, is against the orders given by the Supreme Court in the Prakash Singh case.

Stating that there are many allegations against him that the PSR Anjaneyulu, Ravindra Kumar requested the ECI in his letter to take appropriate legal action \ against those who are acting in favor of the ruling party in the context of general elections.
