Telangana’s politics got hotter with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy coming down heavily on the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), calling it “DRS” — Deyyala Rashtra Samithi. The sarcastic shot, aimed at former CM K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), has gone viral instantly, generating heated debates in the state.
Revanth’s observation is astutely born out of a previous political controversy involving a comment by KCR’s daughter, K. Kavitha, where she had said that her father was being surrounded by “ghost-like” negative forces. Quoting herself as political fodder, Revanth charged the former CM’s inner circle of constituting a controlling and corrupt “ghost committee” who ran state affairs secretly.
Speaking at a charged rally in Aleru, Revanth Reddy declared that ousting KCR from office had been his foremost objective of his political career — an objective he now declares as fulfilled. Having wrapped up that chapter, he insisted his government is intent on leading Telangana’s development and forging inclusive growth without any disruption.
He didn’t hold back in criticizing the BRS-era governance, alleging the state was burdened with nearly ₹8 lakh crore in debt during KCR’s tenure. Revanth questioned whether salaries were ever paid on time under the former government, accusing the administration of mismanagement and broken promises.
Turning to civic concerns, Revanth highlighted the poor state of Hyderabad’s Musi River, questioning the BRS government’s failure to clean and restore it. He accused unnamed forces of deliberately stalling progress and reaffirmed his commitment to overcome all obstacles to development.
The CM didn’t mince words when he referred to KCR as the “head ghost,” accusing him of retreating to his farmhouse while the state suffered. Revanth pledged to rid Telangana of what he called regressive, backdoor politics and reaffirmed his dedication to establishing transparent, people-centric governance.
