Days after signing MoU seeking investments into the state with Adani Group, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy led a protest by the Congress party against the same Group, in front of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office in Hyderabad on Thursday.

The protest was held by the TPCC, headed by Revanth Reddy, responding to the call given by the All India Congress Committee (AICC) directing all Congress units across the country to stage protests against the BJP government alleging that it was supporting the Adani group in looting the nation’s wealth.

This call was given as a follow up to Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi’s demand that the BJP government should dismiss SEBI Chairperson Madhabi Puri Buch, following the  Hindenburg report that alleged irregularities committed by her.

Moreover,   the INDIA bloc  led by Congress had also insisted on a Joint Parliamentary Committee probe against these allegations. Revanth Reddy alleged that the Parliament monsoon session was adjourned four days in advance fearing outcry after this report.

Apart from Cabinet Ministers, AICC Telangana incharge Deepadas Munshi and senior leader Salman Khurshid participated in the protest. Revanth Reddy asserted that “though I am the Chief Minister, abiding by the high command’s dictat, I am participating in the protest like any other Congress party worker. Irrespective of the stature, when high command gives a call, one has to protest.”

Speaking on this occasion, the Chief Minister said that Rahul Gandhi has exposed the Adani case in the Parliament. He also lamented Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s management of the country’s economy. He recalled that Indians’ debts doubled during the last 10 years of his rule.

India has a debt of Rs.183 lakh crore, in which the current Prime Minister Modi has double the debt of 16 Prime Ministers, he added. He expressed anger that Modi, Amit Shah, Adani and Ambani have ruined the country’s economy.

Revanth Redd demanded an inquiry into the Adani mega scam and a JPC probe into SEBI Chairman’s irregularities. Meanwhile, CM Revanth Reddy displayed a placard saying that ‘Truth will win’ (Sathyam vijayam sadhistumdi). After the dharna, CM Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhattivikramarka submitted a petition to the ED officials demanding a probe into Adani’s scam.
