Revanth Reddy preparing To Revolt Against Congress High-command, If Necessary?

Tuesday, December 16, 2025

Revanth Reddy’s repeated claims that he will be Chief Minister for the next ten years has been creating uproar in Telangana Congress. While several leaders are questioning such unilateral claims, some are suspecting he is preparing ground for his future plan of action, if needed.

It may be recalled that in national parties like Congress the high-command plays a key role in every decision making. Even resourceful leaders like DK Shivakumar are unable to convince the party high command and remain silent. Already Congress high-command has been showing its discontent over Revanth Reddy style of functioning in many ways, but surprisingly he is continuing in his own way.

This is definitely considered to be a tone of contempt towards the Delhi elders. For more than a year, Revanth Reddy is unable to get a personal appointment with party `supreme leader’ Rahul Gandhi and hardly his voice is heard in cabinet expansion or TPCC executive committee formation.

CM Revanth Reddy, who was upset with the adamant attitude of the party high-command towards him, has reportedly decided to confront the Delhi elders if warranted? It seems he is determined to send a strong signal  to the high command that he will not be afraid even if the leader does not meet him?

Revanth Reddy is seen more worried that some of his ministers, who are seniors in the party are getting more access than him in Delhi. He felt that they are succeeding in creating a negative opinion against him.

It may be recalled that a few months ago, he said “Some people have their eyes on my chair. I am sitting on a chair  and if I show them another chair opposite and ask them to sit, they do not listen. They are looking to sit on my chair or on my side”.

Sources close to the CM believe that some senior leaders’ eyes are on the CM chair with the encouragement of the party’s top leaders. They suspect that they are moving their pawns in Delhi to remove him from the chair if they get the opportunity. They believe that two key leaders thwarted CM Revanth Reddy’s attempts to give a ministerial berth to an MLA from his faction during the recent cabinet expansion.

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, who recently visited Hyderabad, is also reported to have expressed deep dissatisfaction with the state leaders’ behavior. Kharge expressed concern as many MLAs and ministers are abusing each other openly.

Reliable sources said that he has directed to come to Delhi with full details. Revanth Reddy has taken reports on this factional fight to Delhi. But Revanth Reddy is once again deeply disappointed when Rahul did not give him an appointment.
