Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has stirred the political discourse with impactful remarks about how former Chief Ministers have each left behind a unique brand or legacy. Speaking at a recent public event, Revanth drew attention to the defining initiatives of past leaders while positioning his own vision for the state.
“Every Chief Minister is associated with a distinct identity,” he observed. “For instance, ₹2 per kg rice is forever linked with N.T. Rama Rao. The rise of the IT sector brings Chandrababu Naidu to mind, and Jalayagnam is remembered as Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy’s hallmark. Some leaders even make movements their brand,” he said, in an indirect reference to former CM K. Chandrashekar Rao.
Revanth then made it clear where he stands: “My brand is ‘Young India’. That is the vision I’m committed to shaping and delivering.”
The Chief Minister didn’t hold back from criticizing the Central government either. Raising a pertinent question, he asked why a nation of 140 crore people still struggles to win medals at the Olympics. “Countries with much smaller populations are winning medals in double digits. Where are we falling behind?” he questioned.
Shifting focus to education, Revanth expressed concern over the quality of learning in India. “Though lakhs of students complete B.Tech every year, how many are receiving truly quality education? That’s a question we need to answer,” he said.
As part of his Young India agenda, the Chief Minister announced the establishment of Integrated Model Schools in each Assembly constituency. Each campus will cover an area of 25 acres and will cost approximately ₹200 crore. Besides this, the state government also aims to introduce pre-schools in order to create a solid base in early childhood education.
Revanth Reddy reiterated that his government is very much concerned about offering world-class, affordable education to all children in Telangana.
In a warm, personal gesture, the CM also took time to interact and play sports with students during the event, showcasing his hands-on approach and genuine connection with the youth.
