Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, during a press interaction after the Legislative Council meeting on Saturday, showed full confidence of getting a second term in office.

Recalling the last Assembly polls, he admitted that the Congress party’s success was mainly due to public discontentment with the BRS. But he claimed that in the next elections, people would vote for Congress on the basis of their faith in his leadership. Committed to upholding this trust, he reiterated his promise to keep every commitment made and to see that government welfare programs reach the people. He underscored that recipients of these schemes would be important in determining the party’s electorate.

The Chief Minister asserted that his concern is the development of the state and not personal prestige. Referring to major steps, he said more than 25 lakh farmers had already benefited from the scheme of waiving loans and assured that one crore women would be provided with the promised monetary aid. Optimistic about the support of people, he said even those who keep quiet today would end up supporting Congress.

Attending issues of outstanding dues, Revanth Reddy promised that retired employees’ dues would be settled soon, and a complete settlement was possible in the next financial year. He ended with an assurance of his government’s determination to enhance state revenue and allocate resources in equitable distribution to empower the downtrodden.
