Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has urged the Center to take a decision on the allocation of Krishna water soon and stop Andhra Pradesh from going ahead with its Banakacharla project. Meeting with the Union Water Resources Minister CR Patel along with Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy in Delhi, he explained that injustice has already been done to Telangana in the allocation of Krishna water.

He brought to the attention of the Union Minister that AP is undertaking huge project construction without allocation of Godavari water. He immediately requested the Central intervention and did justice to them. Revanth said that AP is already diverting Krishna river water illegally and despite their objections, the diversion of water is not stopping.

Revanth told the media after the meeting that he had also discussed with the Union Minister the NoC for Sammakka Sagar and the permissions for several projects in Telangana, including Sitarama. Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy said that he had told the Center to prevent AP from taking more water than allocated to AP from Krishna waters.

He said that the Union Minister had assured that he would intervene properly. He deplored that no net allocation of water has been made for Telangana projects on Godavari and wanted to give permission for AP projects only after allocations have been made. He questioned why the AP government was objecting to Telangana projects.

They said that they will accept AP projects only after Telangana gets allocations in Krishna and Godavari waters. They said that the Union Minister said that the AP government has not given any DPR related to the Banakacherla project. They said that they have also discussed with the Minister about increasing the allocations to Telangana in Krishna waters.

They also asked the Center to provide funds for the Palamuru Ranga Reddy and Sitarama projects. They said that they have requested funds for a total of five projects. They asked that telemetry be set up quickly on the joint projects of AP and Telangana and said they would bear the AP share if necessary for the establishment of telemetry.

They also said that they have requested that the NDSA report regarding the collapsed Medigadda barrage be given quickly. If the NDSA report is given quickly, they will take action against those responsible for the collapse of the barrage.
