Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has accused the Centre of completely discriminating against Telangana and every request made by Telangana is being thrown in the dustbin. In a nine-page open letter to Union Minister Kishan Reddy he deplored that the Centre is not heeding Telangana’s requests.
He alleged that the Centre, which has given approvals to Bengaluru and Chennai metro projects, is neglecting the expansion of Hyderabad Metro and expressed impatience that the state is waiting for the Centre’s approvals for key projects. The CM said that it is the responsibility of Union Minister Kishan Reddy to sanction funds to the Telangana state.
He questioned why Kishan Reddy is spewing venom at Musi, who has made several statements on Sabarmati and Ganga revival. Alleging that Kishan Reddy was being completely negligent in the matter of state projects, Revanth Reddi is angry that for blaming him for speaking with a lack of understanding. Since the formation of the people’s government in Telangana on December 7, 2023, he said that his governance has been carried out with complete responsibility and transparency.
“We are fully committed to the federal policy mentioned in the Constitution of India. We are moving forward with the aim of achieving the interests of the people of Telangana. In this context, we are fully following the Central Government’s procedures for obtaining permissions for the construction of Hyderabad Metro Phase-II, Regional Ring Road (RRR), Musi Rejuvenation, Regional Ring Rail, and Greenfield Road from Dryport to Bandaru Seaport in AP, which are crucial for the development of Telangana”, he added.
He took severe exception for criticizing him if the state government requests permissions and funds for its proposed projects from the center. “It is highly objectionable to criticize us even after meeting the central ministers and providing the details requested by the respective departments, along with the Prime Minister, and even after meeting you and explaining everything to you personally”, he said.
He challenged Kishan Reddy to tell the people of Telangana what he has done in the union cabinet for the benefit of the state. However, the Chief Minister urged him to pay special attention to the permission and funding of projects worth Rs. 1,63,559.31 crore related to Telangana state. “I would like to remind you that I met Prime Minister Modi, along with central ministers regarding the implementation of those projects,’ he added.
