Iconic industrialist Ratan Tata is a devotee of Srivaru and hee has a special connection with Tirumala and Tirupati. In Tirumala Tirupati, where crores of devotees flock every day, the services of Shrivaru have been stood by the technical elegance without any hindrance. Steps have been taken with the TTD Board to protect the health of the people.
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) plays a key role in providing online services to make Srivaru services more transparent. The agreement to provide free software services to TTD can be said to be a milestone. With the initiative of the then Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, this was realized during the previous EO Sambasiva Rao’s tenure and TCS provided the necessary software services and employees to TTD.
TCS has been providing many services like ticket issuance, room allotment, cash payments etc. in online and current booking for eight years. TCS providing services valued at around Rs.12 crores per year is a proof of Tata’s dedication to service.
In 2018, Ratan Tata visited Tirumala and had Nijapada Darshan Darshan Seva, along with Tata Group Chairman N. Chandrasekaran. Tata Trust has made advanced medical services available in Tirupati to save poor people from the most deadly cancer.
The Sri Venkateswara Institute of Cancer Care and Advanced Research Center (SWICAR) has been set up at a cost of Rs.250 crore on a 25-acre site at the foothills of Tirumala. On August 31, 2018, Ratan Tata performed Bhumi Puja along with Chandrababu Naidu after allotting the valuable land of TTD on a nominal lease on the request of the then Chief Minister Chandrababu.
Initially, chemotherapy services were made available with 10 beds. Currently serving as a 100 bed hospital. While 300 OPs are registered, up to 1,100 chemos per month and 85 people are receiving radiotherapy daily. Tata Cancer Hospital has become a boon to the people of Rayalaseema and Nellore districts by performing an average of 130 major surgeries every month.
Pink bus services have been made available for early detection of cancer. For four years, cancer screenings have been conducted in all regions across the state and treatment is being provided through level 1, 2 and 3 stage cancer centers.
Ratan Tata has set up Tata Smart Food Limited (TSFL), reputed to be the second largest company in the ready-to-eat (RTE) market in the country at Sri City.
