Rashmika Mandanna on Stardom, Competition, and Pan-India Career Choices

Wednesday, April 2, 2025
Actress Rashmika Mandanna, who is set to appear alongside Salman Khan in the upcoming action thriller Sikandar, emphasized that an actor’s choices define their journey to stardom. Directed by AR Murugadoss, the film is scheduled for release on March 30, coinciding with Ramzan. Rashmika recently participated in promotional events with Salman Khan.
Speaking about her approach to career growth, she stated, “I once read that an actor’s choices determine their transformation into a star. It has been my decision to explore multiple industries. I have worked in Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi films, and I hope to venture into Malayalam cinema soon. Every film I have taken up has been my personal decision, without external influence or advice. Coming from Coorg, I entered the Kannada industry, later transitioning into Tamil and Hindi, despite having no prior connections. I take full responsibility for my career decisions and their outcomes.”
Addressing competition in the industry, she remarked, “I don’t focus on competition. Everyone is on their own path, working toward their goals.” Adding to her statement, Salman Khan asserted that competition is essential, as it drives actors to improve and excel.
Rashmika, who has worked across multiple industries, also highlighted her effort to adapt linguistically. “Whenever I visit a new region, I try to communicate in the local language. I am especially cautious while speaking Hindi to ensure accuracy,” she noted.
Following her recent success in Chhava alongside Vicky Kaushal, Rashmika is now preparing for the release of Sikandar. Additionally, she is working on Kubera with director Sekhar Kammula, as well as The Girlfriend and Thama.
