Tadepalli police in Guntur district registered a case of rape and cheating agaisnt former minister and YCP leader Merugu Nagarjuna against a complaint filed by a woman from Vijayawada. She has accused former minister Nagarjuna of taking money from her on the pretext of providing her with contract work or a job and not returning it, and also physically abusing her.
The victim filed a complaint with the Tadepalli police Friday. The police said that a case of intimidation has been registered against his PA, who cooperated with the former minister and threatened the victim.
After filing a complaint at the police station, the victim spoke to the media and said: ‘I have been acquainted with former minister Merugu Nagarjuna for five years. He took Rs. 90 lakhs from me on the pretext of providing me with contract work or a job related to his department’.
“Meanwhile, minister’s PA Murali Mohan Reddy took me to the minister’s apartment in Kunchanapalli of Tadepalli mandal, stating that he wanted to talk to me. As soon as I entered his house, the PA went away, locking it from outside”.
“In this context, Merugu Nagarjuna forcibly sexually assaulted me four times without giving me any contract work. He did not even pay attention to my request to return the money I had given. When I asked him strongly, he said that he had killed a tribal teacher from Visakhapatnam by giving him slow poison”, she added.
Moreover, she also alleged that Nagarjuna’s PA also threatened her. Unable to bear the pressure of debts and EMIs to be paid to banks, she said now she is approaching the police.
The victim urged Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan and Minister Lokesh to do her justice. CI Kalyan Raju stated that a case has been registered against the former minister and his PA based on the victim’s complaint and they are investigating.
Meanwhile, former minister Merugu Nagarjuna stated that he has no connection with the woman who made the allegations against him. He said that if his involvement is found out, he is ready for any tests or even the death penalty. He said that it is not true that he took Rs. 90 lakhs from the woman and tried to subdue her. He alleged that all the allegations and complaints against him were made as a result of a conspiracy.
