Janasena rebel MLA Rapaka Vara Prasad Rao who has won the elections from the Razole constituency has been the epicenter of controversies with his acts.
Initially, he boasted his success as Janasena’s success and stated that he would never leave the party and expressed that he would rather accomplish being the only MLA on Janasena’s side rather than switching to another party for any political gain. He didn’t take much time to change his stand regarding this. He gave his unconditional support to YSRCP for his political benefits violating his own party’s principles. Rapaka has not officially joined the YSR Congress, rather he shifted his loyalties to that party.
Janasena cadre is not happy with what Rapaka has done and the retaliation from the cadre has started in a serious way. Ha has been criticized publicly by the people and the cadre and now the posters have been set up telling Rapaka not to come for the foundation day celebrations. Rapaka was also involved in another controversy where he publicly stated that fake votes have played a key role in his victory. This has shocked everyone and the issue has gone till the state election commission. The SEC has ordered the district collector to look into the matter. With his loose tongue, he has lost all the image and reputation in the cadre and now it’s not even clear that YSRCP would offer him the ticket in the next general elections.
